K&A’s Packing Philosophy:

Always challenge yourself to pack less…..way less….way way way less.  We have spent years trying to perfect our packing and we have definitely improved on most fronts(see above) but we still fail on others.  Packing is a constantly evolving activity for us. We nail certain aspects on one trip and fail miserably on the same aspects on the next trip. We hope by sharing our failures and successes we are able to help you not only improve your packing but also help you enjoy the journey that is packing!

Pro-Tip: Be creative! We have a lot of mismatched pieces that we have collected along the way and they work just as well as buying all the matching pieces. We are constantly thinking outside the box about how things can be used and we prioritize items that have more than one function. For example, we carry napkins that we collect along the way. They are free and have multiple functions including toilet paper. Another great example is we came into a small camelbak waterproof cover without owning any camelbak products. Guess what? It works perfectly on our Osprey Daypack!!

Pro Tip: Ship a small box of items home in the middle of your trip. We did this during our honeymoon and it was affordable and a fun adventure. It is also like sending yourself a present to open after your trip, which can help minimize the end of trip blues.
